Ways to help your child learn the alphabet
- Play "I Spy" eg: I spy with my little eye something that begins with an "f" ...
- Put the alphabet on card and play Snap, Go Fish. Can use uppercase letter names and lowercase letter sounds.
- Play with playdough and make the letter shapes.
- Draw letters outside with chalk or water.
- Collect shells or stones and make the letter shapes.
- Use craft materials to form letter such as pipe cleaners.
- Play "Odd one Out" - Give a list of 4 things and ask your child to pick the odd one eg: apple, astronaut, ant, book. Why is it odd?
- Look and say the letters and sounds on their alphabet tracker in their Home Learning Book.
